Programmes FAQs
Who are your learning programmes for?
Our specialist online learning programmes are designed for children aged 4–11 who would benefit from additional support, greater challenge or targeted intervention to close gaps in learning and build confidence.
How do you know what support my child needs?
Every child's journey begins with a conversation and a short assessment. We take time to understand your child's strengths, areas for development and learning goals before recommending the most appropriate programme.
Are lessons delivered individually or in groups?
We offer both one-to-one and carefully structured small-group sessions. We'll recommend the format that best meets your child's needs and learning style.
Are all sessions online?
Yes. All tuition is delivered live online by experienced educators, allowing families to access high-quality teaching from wherever they are.
How do you measure progress?
We continually assess understanding through observation, questioning and regular review. Parents receive feedback so they understand the progress their child is making and the next steps in learning.
Do you support children with SEND?
Yes. Our educators adapt teaching approaches, resources and pacing to meet individual needs.
What makes Budding Gems different?
We don't simply teach the next lesson. We identify where learning has broken down and tailor online sessions to rebuild understanding, confidence and long-term success.

Who do you support?
We support parents, carers, educational settings and professionals seeking practical, evidence-informed guidance on Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
My child doesn't have an EHCP. Can you still help?
Absolutely. Many families contact us before an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) is in place. Early guidance can make a significant difference and help ensure the right support is in place from the outset.
Can you help with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)?
Yes. We support families with EHC needs assessment requests, reviewing draft EHCPs, preparing evidence, Annual Reviews and understanding the next steps.
Can you attend meetings with me?
Yes, where appropriate. We can help you prepare for meetings and, in some cases, attend alongside you to provide independent educational guidance and advocacy.
Can you help if I disagree with a decision?
Yes. We can help you understand your options, review documentation, prepare evidence and support you through the appeals process, including SEND Tribunal preparation where appropriate.
Do you provide legal representation?
No. We provide expert educational guidance and advocacy but do not offer legal representation. Where appropriate, we can signpost families to specialist legal services.

Who is your training designed for?
Our training is designed for parents, EYFS settings, faith communities, and teaching assistants and support staff who want to build confidence and skill in supporting children's learning and wellbeing.
What topics do you cover?
Sessions cover SEND awareness and inclusion, early years development, and practical skills for teaching assistants and support staff, tailored to the audience booking.
Is training delivered in person or online?
Both. We'll agree the best format for your setting or group when you get in touch.
Can training be booked for a whole team or setting?
Yes. Training can be booked individually or as a group booking for a whole team, priced per head with a bulk rate available.
Do attendees receive a certificate?
Yes. Attendees receive a certificate of attendance confirming the hours completed.
Do you speak at events or conferences?
Yes. Keynote talks and panel contributions are available — get in touch with your event details.
